Some clients may not see optimal results from microblading if:
-The client has excessively oily skin with open pores.
-The client suffers from rosacea or a red/ruddy complexion.
-The client has had a previous tattoo on the area, and it is still heavily saturated with color/has aged to an undesirable color (which correction or removal will be required first)
*In any of these cases, we suggest having micropigmentation done instead.

What is Micropigemntation?

Permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because pigment is tattooed into the upper reticular part of the dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, as with any tattoo or colorant (pigment) in general, fading can and often does occur, requiring periodic maintenance referred to as color re-enhancement or color refreshing. The scientific structure of pigments and the requirement for periodic refreshing is identical to that of tinted hair color; faded material on furniture that may be located near a window and subject to sun exposure; house paint that is exposed to the sun and other environmental elements; pigment implanted in the skin may fade with time.This colorant periodic maintenance requirement is a good opportunity to reevaluate one’s color and design preferences.
While the concept of permanent, without any change, may seem like a perfectly good idea, think about how your tastes have changed over the years. From time to time likely you have made subtle or dramatic changes in your clothing preferences, your hair color and style, and if you wear topical makeup, those colors have changed as well.
The fact that most people will require periodic color refreshing of their permanent cosmetics is the opportune time to work with your technician to reevaluate your overall appearance profile and determine if any changes are appropriate.Longevity varies from person to person depending on their life style (sun exposure), the color(s) used for the permanent cosmetic procedure, and are also thought to be affected by topical products applied to the skin.
Microblading

Microblading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a relatively new, manual method.
It is considered to be semi permanent, as compared to the traditional hair stroke
technique. It is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Because we’re impacting color closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine, if done properly.
This is another method that is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows.
The results are natural looking, hair like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. People suffering from alopecia, trichotillomania or any other condition that causes hair
loss benefit greatly from Microblading, as well as people who simply aren't happy with
their eyebrows. The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow colour, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into them. The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow.

Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade significantly over a two week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment. The results can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, depending on different factors affecting the procedure. However, a touch up once a year is recommended to retain the shape and saturation of pigment. Before choosing a technician for your procedure, PLEASE make sure you check out their previous work. Going blindly is never a good idea. Technicians who are proficient always provide before/after photos. Do not take anyone’s word for it. Always see with your own eyes and make an educated decision, based on their previous work.
This is, after all, your face and even semi permanent make up can cause some permanent changes to your skin.
How Long it Will Last?
After your initial appointment you will be booked in for a touch up that will take place 4-6 weeks after. It is important to have this touch up done because it is impossible to predict how well your skin will retain the pigment. We may need to add additional strokes, some strokes may disappear completely during healing, you may need a color adjustment; this is all completely normal and will all be addressed during your touch up.

For microblading:
Typically this procedure lasts 1-3 years, with a color boost every 1-1.5 years.
This of course is subject to change due to your age, skin type and aftercare regimen.
If you have excessively oily skin, skin which produces a lot of sebum or excessively sweat on a daily basis; You may need to come for a full touch up every 6 months, however this is rare.
If you do not properly follow the aftercare regimen or pick and scratch at the area, you will require additional touch ups that will be an extra charge.
As this procedure is considered semi-permanent, it allows us to adjust the shape, height and color over time; which is perfect for clients who wish to maintain this look over a long period of time and others who simply want a change.
For Micropigmentation:
Eyeliner typically lasts anywhere from 2-5 years, this again is subject to change based on your age and skin texture.

Lip tattooing typically lasts anywhere from 1-3 years depending on the climate you live in and how often your lips shed (peel or flake)

We often recommend that our lip clients use 8 Hour intensive lip repair from Elizabeth Arden. Another favorite recommendation is Argan oil which can be purchased from a health food store. Grapeseed oil and coconut oil is very good for healing as well.
How do you design the shape?
We really take our time to analyze your individual bone structure and facial anatomy. With the use of specific mathematical tools, we determine the appropriate shape for where your eyebrows should be.
These same rules apply to Eyeliner and lip tattooing to ensure that everything is symmetrical and even!
From the beginning, we map out the shape with my tools and brow pencil. From there, you will be asked to sit up (gravity affects us all differently) and I will take the time to double check the shape and measurements to ensure you will have two symmetrical eyebrows that are equal in shape, height, length and distance.
It is very common for natural eyebrow hair growth to start further in and higher than one side, or they may sit too low on the brow line, this is why it is so important for us to take the time to strategically map out the perfect shape for you.
Often times this procedure creates the look of a very discrete face lift. Eyes appear larger, and more awake, which restores a youthful look to the face without the expensive costs of plastic surgery.
Once the shape has been approved by us both, you will be asked to lay back down so that we can carefully reinforce this shape with a surgical marker (don't worry, all outlines come off before the end of the procedure).
Once the shape is reinforced we will begin your procedure.
Is it painful?
Although we are technically tattooing the skin, this method does not hurt as much as a traditional tattoo.
Generally, people say that it is uncomfortable but tolerable. Prior to the treatment, a layer of anesthetic will be applied to the area to make it as comfortable as possible. During the procedure we use more numbing agents which reduce discomfort to zero or barely noticeable. Women close to or during their menses cycle may be slightly more sensitive, but this is subjective to the individual.
Please note: We only use topical numbing agents that have been approved for safe use on the skin.
How long appointment will take?

Generally each procedure takes 2-3 hours, which includes your consultation and application of pre-procedure topical anesthetic (we only use topical anesthetics). At the end of your appointment the aftercare regimen will be explained to you. You may also receive aftercare treatment for the area and a sheet to take with you in case you forget how to care for the area. We use and recommend natural Grape seed oil for your aftercare, among other natural oils.
Our general rule is: Any aftercare you can eat, is good for your skin!
